Description: Join us for an early spring hike into beautiful Middle Tennessee cedar glades and woodlands. Vesta is comprised of cedar glades, barrens and cedar-hardwood forest communities. It is a flat landscape with exposed limestone outcropping and sinkhole features that are characteristic of the karst topography that influences cedar glade ecology. Cedars of Lebanon also provides many excellent examples of cedar glades and cedar-hardwood forest community types, particularly where topography varies and there are rolling hills. This will be an approximately 2 to 3 mile easy hike. Dress appropriately for the weather, and bring water and snacks. Folks may also wish to wear bug repellent, long pants, and light colored clothes to avoid ticks.
