The 2013 Wilson County Master Gardener Spring Festival & Garden Tour / Plant Sale is Saturday, May 11 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The event takes place at the James E. Ward Agricultural Center in Lebanon. Admission & parking are free. And don’t forget Mom! Mother’s Day is that Sunday (May 12) so why not bring mom out for a day of flowers, food, fun and fresh air on the 11th.

Keynote speakers for 2013 include:
Jeff Poppen, The Barefoot Farmer, will be our first keynote speaker of the day. You’ve probably seen Jeff on TV on The Volunteer Gardener, or seen his books on the shelves (available from Jeff here: www.barefootfarmer.com/the-books/ ) but this is your chance to see and hear him speak in person. In addition, we are thrilled to have Kim Christen from Worm’s Way of Nashville as our second keynote speaker. Kim’s presentation will cover a variety of topics like sustainable gardening, vermiculture and organic soil amendments. Her presentation begins at 12:00 noon in the Education Building. Polly Rooker, TWRA
Our afternoon keynote speaker is Polly Rooker, Watchable Wildlife and Waterfowl biologist with the Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency. Polly will educate you and entertain you with her presentation on attracting birds and other wildlife to your backyard wildlife habitat.
