Here are a few photos taken during the guided tour of the Vanderbilt Arboretum. Thank you Dr. Steven Baskauf for the wonderfully informative and beautiful tour of some of the historical trees and landmarks on the Vanderbilt campus. Thank you Lauren May for organizing the event and for bringing Dr. Baskauf to our July meeting. And thank you Angela Maxwell for sharing your photos with us.
- Dr. Baskauf telling about our September elms
- A shot of the Bicentennial Oak from underneath a redbud tree
- Redwoods in Tennessee – dawn redwood (Metasequoia glyptostroboides)
- Gathering before the tour
- It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a giant willow oak!
- The campus is gorgeous with lots of shade (and miles of sidewalks).
- The trick to having the champion Zelkova? Simple… be the first to plant it.
- You would be hard pressed to find a more enthusiastic tree tour guide than Dr. Steven Baskauf.
